Coming-Of-Age

The Mayor celebrated his 33rd birthday yesterday (33 is when hobbits traditionally come of age).  The Hobbit Wife surprised the Mayor with a date, and the two older hobbitlings made birthday cards.

Ela's card is below.  The translation is "From Ela, To Tim.  See! Your princess loves you"

Boookie's card is below.  The picture is the battle with the orcs at Amon Hen.  Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli are all smiling because they have killed the orcs.

LEGO Jewelry

A few nights ago, Ela came upstairs sporting some jewelry she had made from LEGOs.

Sword and Shield

The Mayor had another idea this weekend and decided to make a shield for Boookie to match his sword.  A piece of scrap wood from old Ikea furniture plus a few hardware fittings and some paint became this shield of Minas Tirith.  For the uninitiated, the symbol is the white tree of Gondor, brought to Middle Earth by Isildur, and the seven stars represent the seven palantir of Elendil.

Here's the young warrior with his sword and shield.  The Mayor made the cloak many (20!) years ago when he was 13, and the young Boookie warrior has finally grown into it.

Werps!

Boookie proudly came upstairs announcing that he had pulled a tooth all by himself.  Aforementioned item was placed on the table to be exchanged for monetary reward.  Shortly thereafter, Seimi saw said item on the table and popped it in his mouth, thinking it was a snack.  After crunching it for a moment, he spit it out, with a "Werps!" (Whoops!)
