Savoring

Hobbitlings are playing downstairs while the Mayor and Hobbit Wife wrap presents and cook ahead as the snow falls outside.
Reminded of that wonderful poem by Robert Frost, Stopping By Woods on a Snowy Evening

Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.

My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.

He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound's the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.

The woods are lovely, dark and deep.
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

Christmas gear-up

On Friday the Mayor took the hobbitlings to the mall to have some fun...
...and to buy some shoes.
Sunday was GranDma's play and here's Boookie helping with the tear-down afterward.
Eejee decided that the wise men were bringing coffee to Mary and Joseph

SNOW!

The hobbits of Michael Delving set their alarms and got up at 1AM this morning to go play in the snow. When snow comes as infrequently as it does around here, you gotta get your playing in when the playing is good!
The Mayor pulled Eejee and Seimi on the sled and by the time we had gone two blocks, Eejee was already freezing and ready to go home.

The Mayor post-snowball pelting

Our tradition is to load up the sled with snow from the neighboring church and bring it home to our yard.
The aftermath
Eejee aftermath - he sat so still on the sled that snow built up on his face
Cold but undaunted!
The scene in the entryway at 2:30AM today. Our apologies to neighbors who may have been sleeping.

Still snow left this morning!

Just Like New!

Our iPad looks the same as it always has but is brand new once you log in. Mr. Eejee managed to change the language to Chinese and then successfully wiped the iPad.
::sigh::
(Eejee is currently running around the house telling everyone in a loud stage whisper, "Eejee got out of the bed!")

Tree Decorating Party

SNOW, Snow, snow?

After church yesterday we got our Christmas tree, did decorating, and then watched "White Christmas."
A never-before-needed feature - a screw into a ceiling joist with wire to keep the tree from falling over in the very-likely event that Eejee disobeys and touches the Kimah-Kree.
While the parents were busy upstairs, Boookie, Ela and Seimi were busy decorating the Bunker and they did an amazing job (zero help on any of this!)

Pastimes

The Mayor and the Hobbit Wife have both been getting warnings that our phone storage is full. Take a look at the picture below and guess who is to blame for this.
The older three having been continuing the Bunker move-in process with warning signs on the door.

Thanksgiving Catch-Up

Ela's late harvest of wildflower seeds with her creative touch applied to the seed bags made of leaves.
Boookie showing off his huge bow in the woods at Wilcox Park.
Ela "temporarily" moving into the Bunker, including decorations.
On Monday, chainsaw guys came and took out a bunch of trees.
Eejee was obsessed with this bottle of "chainsaw monk" that he saw the chainsaw guys drinking.

Grammy's beautiful place settings all ready for Thanksgiving
Ela showing off her bow skills before dessert
Uncle Matty showing funny face filters while Uncle Nick watches
Eejee trying out the face filters
Eejee sitting still for a moment with Grampz.
Seimi giving Uncle Matty lessons on how to draw a Jabtar, which Uncle Matty promptly trademarked and copywrited
Christmas decorations all hung up, with the Christmas tree to follow next weekend.
