The Bower, Version 2.0

There are a few more things here and there to finish, but the 2016 Bower refresh is largely complete.
Many beloved but tattered little girl items were either given to other little girls or retired forever to the Dressup Hall of Fame.
Ela and Seimi enjoying playing dressup in the new space below the bunk bed.
Ela's new wardrobe and vanity set up in the Bower.  This is now the coolest room in Michael Delving, without question.
Eejee freaking out with delight at finally getting access to the play kitchen.

On Hereditary Toes

The Mayor was trimming fingernails and toenails after a bath, and as he got to Seimi's little toe, Seimi announced:
Tha-tha-that one didn't die. It just happens to be small.

On Illness

We've been enjoying lots of "flop" time due to various illnesses lately. Last Sunday, when it was announced that we would not be going anywhere, Seimi blurted out (in the most hilarious, deep, gravelly frog voice), REALLY?

All the Kids!

The hobbitlings felt it important to mark an important milestone - all of them eating sandwiches!  Note the colored plates - at Michael Delving, we're big fans of plastic things.  To mark ownership, Boookie always gets blue, Ela always gets pink (red if there is no pink), Seimi gets green, and Eejee gets yellow or the other color in the plastic thing set.

Caution - Wet Paint

The Mayor has been working on a little project in the Bower, taking out a closet to open up more flexibility for Ela's use and enjoyment.  It was also the last piece of exterior wall that needed insulation, which was a bonus.

Ela painting the new drywall.
The finished space with Ela's new wardrobe.
The younger boys playing with a "brrrrm-brrrrm" on Eejee's side of the room.  The floor and all surfaces are sparkling clean this morning due to an unfortunate clothes-removal incident, which necessitated a deep cleanse.  A small bonus, because the room needed to be cleaned anyway.  Eejee (aka "Disobaby" aka "Lean Mean Disobeying Machine") just moved up the cleaning urgency.
For the Mayor's 36th birthday, he also got some fresh paint.

End of a Grocery Era

Our local grocery store is closing at the end of this month, so the Mayor and the hobbitlings made one last trip to bid farewell.  We bought out the last of the good butter and cheese sticks (very fitting).
We also bought the last ice cream sandwiches and did our summer tradition, eating them on the south side of the store in the sunshine.

Lettuce

Where does this salad come from?  It tastes like leaves.
