Happy Easter!

Michael Delving hobbits took both Friday and Saturday (mostly) off regular work to enjoy the sunshine.  Friday afternoon was spent at the zoo and Saturday is being enjoyed at home.

Here's Mr. Eejee enjoying the freedom to explore at the zoo.
Mr. Boookie showing off his awesome StarCraft tattoo (United Earth Directorate symbol).  The Mayor adopted the same beret around the same age as his signature look.
On Saturday, the Mayor arranged a challenging Easter egg hunt. The eggs contained keys that had to be pieced together to decipher a coded riddle that said the hiding place of each stash of candy.  Here's Boookie exercising his special operative skills at code breaking, as Ela and Seimi bring him pieces of the code.
Mr. Seimi with all the eggs.
Miss Ela with a different dress than she had a few minutes ago.  When a girl hasn't enjoyed sunshine in a while, she has to make sure all her summer dresses still work!

Mob Tattoo

The Mayor got a family portrait on his left shoulder this weekend.  For those who don't recognize him, that would be Daddy Meerkat in the center, fighting a cobra to protect his four meerkat pups.  Mommie Meerkat is on alert, keeping an eye on the fight as well as the pups, ready to jump in where she is needed.

A Dozen Years Ago...

“It's a dangerous business, Frodo, going out your door. You step onto the road, and if you don't keep your feet, there's no knowing where you might be swept off to.”

Morning Melodies

Boookie was listening to Ela singing a Taylor Swift song as they were making breakfast and commented that the song sounded a little off.

Ela responded, I am a little pitchy right now. It's early - I don't have my full song on.

Gratitude

Our mealtime tradition has become to dispense with canned prayers and to have each hobbitling express what they're thankful for at each meal.

Last night, Seimi stated, Thank you Jesus for this food. My favorite part is the dead bat wings.

Pasttimes

Here are a few of the things the Michael Delving hobbitlings have been up to lately:

Making crisp apple strudel in preparation for a viewing of "The Sound of Music."
Reading books about World War 2 weapons
Basting apple strudel to make sure it is crisp
Playing "Go Fish" with blanket Doggy Lee
Reading Harry Potter Book 5
Playing "StarCraft"
Playing "Minecraft"
Playing "StarCraft"
When Eejee is not bringing home fantastic colds from his side hobby (volunteer taste testing of fine shopping carts), he can be found playing in his room or enjoying treats such as stale candy hearts.

Sick boys

Everyone at Michael Delving has had something or other, but the little boys have definitely had the worst of it.  Seimi was feeling well enough to go on an outing with Daddy, but this is still one sick little boy (sorry about the germs, Panera)!
And Eejee has been really sick.  There's no other explanation of why a super active 22-month-old would allow himself to be propped up in bed like this.
