The following was posted by the Mayor despite serious concern that this might "go mainstream" and ruin the experience.

Inspired by the "Pillows and Blankets" episode from the TV show Community, the hobbitlings set out to build their own blanket and pillow fort, Fort Maclaren, in the basement. Last night was spent in version 1.0 and today was spent creating the new and improved version 2.0.
The interior of Fort Maclaren is a welcoming place for all with three simple rules:
1) No Smoking
2) No Farting
3) No Pillow-Fighting
It doesn't matter who you are, when you enter Fort Maclaren, you are surrounded by softness and comfort.
Without revealing any blanket-fort making secrets, you can appreciate the spacious and well-designed space, with plenty of cubbies and nooks for headlamps, teddies, blankets and weapons. Three hobbitlings are able to recline with ease and even to entertain the rest of the family, although the plush welcome mat was yanked away when the Mayor got too comfy and looked like he might fall asleep.
Today marks the Mayor and Hobbit Wife's thirteenth anniversary and they got to go on a short hike to celebrate. On their hike they discovered this odd woodland creature coming out of hibernation for spring tomorrow.
And at dinner tonight of course there had to be a viewing of My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic "Winter Wrap Up"
The big report was successfully submitted yesterday, so now it's on to a relaxing Saturday celebration of all things automotive. The Mayor put on this year's Daytona 500 for background and the hobbitlings hosted a grand rally of all their Matchbox cars.

Eejee with the favorite car on his racing team, a BMW M Roadster.
Addendum: The Hobbit Wife always remembered and loved this Chevy Camaro commercial from her teenage years but never imagined she'd be living it.
It's become next-to-impossible for her to get the boys to tell her the time, because every number has some connection to car trivia. For instance, 1:55 becomes "the limited top-speed of the BMW M3" and 2:53 becomes "the top-speed of the Bugatti Veyron." And it's not just the 11-year-old car genius that is responsible for the factual over-sharing. It's become apparent that the 6-year-old must have learned to read, because he spits out far too many car facts than he could have learned simply by osmosis.
Addendum: The Mayor is enjoying getting in on the car fun. Here's a new LEGO Bugatti Chiron that joins his work LEGO collection.
All the residents of Michael Delving are eagerly looking forward to St. Patrick's Day, which marks the date when the Mayor will be submitting an important report that wraps the current phase of a big project at work. Many family nights and weekends have gone towards this endeavor and all are looking forward to some spring downtime and play.
