Tulip

We have a new family member - introducing Tulip the Wonder Mutt!
She was fostered by one of the Mayor's co-workers and was born on March 26 in central California. Below are pictures of her at 7 weeks (when she came to Washington state) and at 11 weeks (when she left the foster home to join our family).
At the foster home, Tulip got to learn how to dog from Kona. Here's a picture of the two of them cuddling on the couch. Kona was a wonderful big sister and the residents of Michael Delving are so grateful for all the love and training she received in foster care.
Here is Tulip on the first day with us. It's tiring work to adjust to a new family.
Tulip is a smart, good girl. She has been working hard to adjust, as has the whole family.
Tulip curled up on her mat.

Happy Tenth Birthday, Seimi!

Our Seimi just turned ten years old!
Here is Seimi opening presents with Doggy Lee.
Skunk hat!
Seimi also got a copy of "James and the Giant Peach," which is a story about the adventures of another boy named James Henry.
Seimi also got a K-Nex gun, and here he is showing off the features to Eejee.
Seimi also added another stuffed animal to his collection, courtesy of GranDma and Apu.
And here he is opening a present over at Grammy's.
Happy Birthday to the best Seimi in the whole world!

Changes

After three months of many things staying fairly constant, we're starting to see some changes. Seimi and Eejee wanted to show off their old, torn boots along with their new boots.
Last weekend was the first time all six of us were in the van together since the beginning of March!
Outside at the beach!
The Mayor and Boookie got haircuts at long last (emphasis on long).
The Mayor shaved his beard for the first time in eleven years, but only after signing a contract with the Hobbit Wife that he would immediately begin growing it back.
And we have big changes coming up today, with the arrival of our new puppy Tulip.

End of School Fiesta

To mark the end of homeschooling, we had a fiesta to celebrate the hard work of the students and teacher.
Ela helped the Mayor put up the decorations.
Small, socially-distanced party time!
PiƱata time!

Last of May

As we've wrapped up May, we've continued to hide out.
Seimi and Eejee gambling in the front yard.
Fire pit in the backyard.
Seimi showing off his skills at waving a stick on fire.
The Mayor literally had to hold onto Eejee to control his enthusiasm while waving a stick on fire.
Ela creating beautiful fire-air art.
We've been forming a closer relationship with the resident crows. One of the crows came up to the Mayor and panted, so the Mayor started putting out water. The crow left payment the other day, in the form of a bunch of soft polyester stuffing (such as might be useful in a nest).
Using chalk and scrap wood, Seimi created gourmet hors d'oeuvres.
More chalk art
Seimi and Eejee dutifully have avoided playing in the ashes from the fire pit, going so far as to wall it off to create a pretend fireplace.
Screentime in the shop.
Workouts in the driveway.
K-Nex creations.
And with that, we are done with May!
