Five years ago, a very large (and unfortunately, leaning) Ponderosa pine named "Hiram" had to be cut down at Michael Delving. The Mayor borrowed Grampz's chainsaw and milled several sections of the tree into slabs.
After spending the past few years chillin' in the backyard or hanging out under the shop, the slabs are now being transformed into furniture. Here is Boookie working with the Mayor to plane and sand several of the live edge slabs. The first finished Hiram project - downstairs entryway bench and shelf.
In Ela's words (and we all heartily agree), the downstairs mudroom area used to be the worst part of the house, but now it's the best part!
