Happy Halloween!

We actually got ready and did stuff for Halloween this year. Here's Boookie practicing his wand work to conjure up treats. Accio Candy!
Coloring his pumpkin. When Auntie presented him with a few markers, he asked, "Please may I have more choices?" The fact that he got a lot of marker on himself is explained by the following dialogue:
"Can you color a face?" Yes, his own.
"Can you write Boookie?'" Yes, he can write on Boookie.
"Use the other hand." So he colored on the other hand.
While Boookie was coloring his pumpkin, the hobbit wife was carving pumpkins.
The pumpkin masterpieces by day.
The pumpkin masterpieces by night.
Michael Delving went trick-or-treating with the Bergins, who have two children near the age of our hobbits. Here is Auntie Jen pushing the stroller with the two dressed up, but not trick-or-treating girls.
Fi and Boookie in action.
Fi the bunny and Boookie the fireman.
Ela with her pumpkin.
Boookie with his pumpkin. Thumbs up for Halloween!
On the trick-or-treat trail.
Happy flower!
Happy Halloween from the happy hobbitlings!

We're Dancing!

We're happy and wearing our dancing shoes around Michael Delving. The Mayor took his Professional Engineering exam on Friday (8 hour comprehensive test of civil engineering) and is quite hopeful that he passed. We are looking forward to returning to normal life (or some semblance thereof).
As an addendum, we're also tired. Taking the PE exam and potty training is tiring work.
Here's the Boookie after his brief nap on the job.

KODO FM

It's official - 89.1 KODO FM Proudfoot Radio is now up and running (FOTR fans will recognize the nod to Odo Proudfoot). The Mayor wanted to install a whole-house sound system to be able to enjoy his extensive musical library. The more he looked at systems, the more complicated and expen$ive things looked. He then changed his Google search to "cheap whole house audio." Good old FM radio was the universal answer. The Mayor purchased an awesome little FM transmitter from C Crane Company which he can plug into the computer to broadcast to a 200-foot radius. It plugs in for use at Michael Delving but also takes 2-AA batteries. Paired with an iPod Nano, it makes for a perfect road trip music experience.
The clan all piled into She-be car on Sunday afternoon after church to go on a drive. They hadn't been on a just-for-fun drive since before Boookie was born. The North Cascades Highway was the route, and it was a beautiful day for a drive.
We stopped several times to play.
Can you say "static electricity?"
Throwing rocks into the river.
The Boookie making a funny face in the middle of whining.
The hobbitlings enjoyed a long nap on the way home, having thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
And here are a few catch-up pictures of Ela.
She is an ambi-thumb sucker.

Another week

Boookie started potty training last week. He enjoys reading books and playing with his new stuffed toy Elmo while ensconsed in the bathroom. The Mayor was brushing his teeth the other day and happened to hear the hobbitling saying something like "Elmo go see potty." The Mayor looked down just in time to see Elmo being shoved into the potty chair. Fortunately, everyone's favorite hairy red shrill-voiced character was safe, since the Boookie had not yet earned candy by using the facilities. The living room remodel continues at breakneck speed. The Mayor finished installing the wiring during the week, and Uncle Matty came over for another productive Saturday. The living room now has insulation, drywall, and a new door. Here's the outside of the house as of this morning. We now have two little porch lights, as well as an outdoor outlet and flood light for the driveway.
