The residents of Michael Delving have been greatly enjoying the long end of summer/beginning of fall weather with many outings.
Everyone at the zoo. Costumes were optional, with the catch that hobbitlings couldn't wear their new costumes.

Boookie Rebel Trooper! Note that on the door is the map laying out "Operation Sugar Rush." The Mayor mapped out the neighborhood and highlighted blocks with red or green based on candy potential. One home is marked with a big "X" because the perfume-soaked chocolate ruined the candy stash one year.

First stop was Grammy's to lay a base foundation of good chocolate choices.
Hobbitlings at one of the last houses. By this point, the Mayor had to carry Eejee's bag to keep him from toppling over from the weight, Ela was questioning her choice of a ginormous basket, and the two soldiers were urging a return to F.O.B. Michael Delving. In less than 90 minutes, the hobbitlings scored over 17 pounds of candy, blowing away last year's record!

Not pictured is the Hobbit Wife, who held down F.O.B. Michael Delving with her customary grace and charm. After having been on a whirlwind campaign through the entire neighborhood, all the hobbits agreed that the Hobbit Wife was the very best candy giver-outer. She may have stayed home, but she's no "fobbit!"
As a fun addendum, the Mayor's pumpkin came in second place at the office Halloween party.
