We started doing some hiking this summer as a family, which was great fun.
Boookie and the Mayor trained together for a long hike planned for August. Here is Boookie training with a backpack loaded with weight plates.

In mid-August, we went hiking up in the Western Pasayten/Ross Lake area with Uncle Matty. We had to change plans and routes multiple times due to smoke and wildfires, but we ended up hiking just over 50 miles in 4 days, which made this the first 50-miler for both the Mayor and Boookie.
It was a tough hike, but the fellowship, adventure, and stunning views (even the smoky ones) were worth it.
